(over night Ocampo has become a household name – with varied pronunciations)
Who knew that a securities exchange could be affected by a mere envelop? Only in Kenya. The NSE has been on a downwards trend has Kenyan politicians continue with their bickering on what Annan’s handing over of ‘the envelop’ to the ICC means.. And the envelop is not opened yet!
Analysts have it that this may affect the market marginally, probably just this week, as investor adopt a wait and see approach. Then again we’ve been with this envelop for over one and half years, why should it tense investors now?

Stock Trading is unpredictable. Maybe it's not even Ocampo & the envelope who is affecting the trading floors of the NSE though experts predict it is
Wed Jul 15, 02:03:00 PM EATmaybe they are afraid that this might spark another round of violence. I dont blame them because kenyans to some extent misplaced priorities. When our economic growth was announced everyone was happy and i remember that the - najivunia kuwa mkenya slogans was popularized then. but when the election violence started we destroyed the economy- the same economy that was feeding and clothing us. If we do not care about our own economy why should a white investor from the other side of the world give a damn? if we cannot take care of our own assets, what is there to make an investor believe that his assets are safe?

@chegepreneur: NSE is known to have strange things happening.
Fri Jul 17, 11:54:00 AM EAT@kenyantycoon: kenya is like a sheep without a head. Then again most of what we call our assets are majorly foreign owned.
